Solide arc en acier avec ses cordons et pompons verts d'origine, corde torsadée, arbrier en bois galbé en partie centrale, recouvert au-dessus et en-dessous de bois de cerf gravé de feuillages ainsi que d'une tête de diable au-dessous, les côtés sont incrustés de bois de cerf gravé de volutes et scènes de chasse, noix en os, étrier sinueux, sous-garde en fer en balustre, avec cranequin en fer à poignée de bois, boîte à engrenages en fer, marqué 'I. WEBER'.

A German sporting crossbow with cranequin
Circa 1600
With robust steel bow retained by its original cords and with green pom-poms, string of twisted cord, wooden tiller swelling towards the middle, the top and bottom covered with white staghorn engraved with foliage and on the underside with a devil-mask, the sides inlaid with engraved white staghorn with scrollwork and scenes of the chase, bone nut, turned iron stirrup, and baluster iron lever-trigger; together with an iron cranequin with wooden handle, iron gearbox and marked 'I. WEBER' on the bar.
