Broadsword militaire de la garde d'Amsterdam

Lame à double tranchant signée 'Sahagom' avec une gouttière sur le fort, poinçonnée de la marque au loup courant de chaque côté, frappée sur un côté du poinçon de la ville d'Amsterdam ainsi que d'une marque de fabricant couronnée de l'autre côté, garde wallonne en fer avec deux coquilles repercées et ajourées, quillon incurvé, branche de garde galbée, pommeau ovoîde, fusée filigranée.

A Dutch military broadsword of the Amsterdam city guard
Circa 1650-60
With double-edged blade signed 'Sahagom' within the single fuller at the forte and cut with a running wolf mark on each side, and struck below the hilt with the Amsterdam city mark on one side and a crowned maker's mark on the other, iron hilt of 'Walloon' type with swelling double side-rings each filled with pierced plates, downturned rear quillon, thumb-ring, swelling knuckle-guard, ovoidal pommel, and wire-bound grip.
