Canon en fer lisse er raccourci, octogonal au tonnerre puis arrondi, avec visée, portant la tracé d'une signature au tonnerre, platine bombée avec rouet enclavé et couvre-bassinet à ressort, fût décoré de cercles, fleurs et scènes de chasse en bois de cerf, tiroir de réserve coulissant recouvert de bois de cerf gravé de feuillages et d'un cerf courant, talon en laiton, baguette postérieure, avec clé pour armer le rouet.

A composite German wheel-lock sporting carbine
Late 16th early 17th century
With shortened octagonal to round sighted smoothbore barrel with trace of signature at the breech, iron tang, rounded lock with enclosed wheel and sprung pan-cover with button release, full stock decorated with white staghorn pellets, flower-heads and scenes of the chase, sliding patchbox-cover covered with white staghorn engraved with foliage and a running stag, brass butt-plate, and later ramrod ; together with a wheel-lock key.
