With gilt finished jewelled lever movement, bimetallic compensation balance, wolf's tooth winding, gold cuvette, the white enamel dial with Arabic numerals, blued steel moon-style hands, the case with ribbed band, the reverse in translucent blue guilloché enamel surrounded by gold leaf decoration and a small eccentric blank gold cartouche, together with a matching 18 carat gold, enamel and diamond-set brooch in form of a ribbon, together with original fitted Patek Philippe presentation box, case, cuvette, dial and movement signed

It appears that this watch was sold by Patek Philippe & Cie. to Prince Soltykoff, one of the most important collectors of the 19th century. His collection of watches was catalogued by Pierre Dubois and published in 1858 in Collection Archéologique du Prince Pierre Soltykoff, Paris
