Living Room, Guest Room

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Peter Van Dyck studied in Florence, Italy at the renowned Florence Academy of Art under Daniel Graves and Ramiro Sanchez. He became an instructor at the school in 2000 and has taught at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia since 2003. In the majority of his paintings, he applies a mastery of traditional techniques and extraordinary draftsmanship to intimate portrayals of the objects and scenes that surround him, defining and influencing his daily life. Living Room, Guest Room demonstrates the artist's interest in the dialogue between interior and exterior space and light and shadow with a concern for surface and composition as he seamlessly blends classical painting and modern life.
