"Mrs. Huntington's predilection for the sculpture of animals is happily exemplified by her 'Yawning Tiger,' in which every muscle and tendon takes part in the magnificent stretch, from curved tail to extended paw. 'Yawning Tiger' was cast in two sizes: 28 inches long and 13¼ inches long. One of the artist's most popular models, casts of the smaller version, of which the present work is an example, were executed between 1917-1948.
