JUDY KENSLEY MCKIE (b. 1944)
Morton Swinsky, a pioneering Wall Street bond trader and later a multiple Tony-Award winning producer of plays and musicals such as 'Chicago', 'Jersey Boys', 'Hairspray' and 'Billy Elliot', amongst others, was a voracious collector of sculpture and decorative arts and Christie's is honored to continue to present selections from his estate. Highlights from the collection include creations by Judy McKie, a celebrated American designer of studio furniture, whose modernist and playful furnishings enlivened Swinsky's New York duplex. The largest selection of the McKie's limited production ever to appear at auction, these wonderfully spirited, animal-inspired works combine an exceptional aesthetic with the sleek lines of contemporary design.
