The centre engraved with coat-of-arms within foliate surround, the pierced foliate border embellished with beaded 'C'-scrolls and leafage, on cast openwork bracket feet

Lot Essay

Charles Watkins Meysey, the son of Anne Meysey and Rev. Richard Watkins, was baptised Charles Watkins. He married Anna-Maria Meysey, daughter of the Rev. Thomas Meysey and in 1764, he assumed the name Meysey upon succeeding to Shakenhurst.
