A Chinese Ming period gilt bronze figure of Buddha Shakyamuni
With indistinct mark, 15th Century
Seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus base with beaded rims, his hands in bhumisparsamudra and dhyanamudra, wearing a long flowing robe over is left shoulder, his face with serene expression, downcast eyes, arched eyebrows, aquiline nose, smiling lips, pierced pendulous earlobes, surmounted by curled hairdress and ushnisha, incised mark at the front of the base, only first two and part of third character visible, wear to gilding
