A VICTORIAN BRASS IVY LEAF SCROLL EIGHT DAY SKELETON CLOCK WITH PASSING STRIKE
ATTRIBUTED TO SMITHS, CLERKENWELL, LONDON. CIRCA 1870
DIAL: pierced, engraved and silvered chapter ring, blued steel hands MOVEMENT: scroll and foliate pierced plates joined by four double-screwed pillars, single chain fusee, train wheels with five crossings, dead beat anchor escapement, passing hour strike on bell; gridiron pendulum, winding key, replaced mahogany plinth and glass dome
18¾ in. (48 cm.) high, excluding dome; 15 in. (38 cm.) wide; 9 in (22.5 cm.) deep
