Lot Essay

Certain details are woven using a very fine petit-point stitching, some of which, as well as some outlines of motifs, is woven in silk. Two similar but slightly smaller examples were sold in these Rooms, The Mayorcas Collection of Tapestries and Textiles, 12 February 1999, lots 4 and 408.
