A Suit of Armor laced in White and Pale Green
Edo period (18th century)
The do maru constructed of black-lacquered leather hon kozane laced in green and white and comprising a sixteen-plate suji bachi lacquered black and fitted with a four-stage copper chrysanthemum tehen kanamono with the third stage lacquered black, the front and back with shinodare carved with clouds and chrysanthemum-embossed metal ring on the back, the kuwagata-dai carved to match and fitted with simple copper kuwagata, the peak and turnbacks applied with stenciled leather; the helmet fitted with a three-lame manju-style neck guard; a Nara-style facemask lacquered black and applied with a moustache, interior red lacquer, fitted with a two-lame throat guard; the do of honkozane with the muna ita and oshitsuke ita applied with stenciled leather and the shoulders fitted with shoji no ita trimmed in copper and gyoyo with stenciled leather; do fitted with eight sections of five-lame tassets and a ring on the back for a flag; chu-sode decorated with gilt-copper hardware carved with chrysanthemums; tsutsu gote sleeves and suneate of iron; kawara haidate; two wood storage boxes
