Of bulbous form with rounded shoulder and short tapered neck ending in a bamboo-form rim, with a reddish brown patina, decorated in copper, silver, gilt and shakudo takazogan and incised details with flowers, birds and butterflies, the handles cast as elephant heads with gilt tusks and with three stylized lion-form feet with gilt eyes, the domed cover surmounted by a finial cast as a lion-dog with mouth open in a snarl and one paw resting on a brocade ball
