Meiji-Taisho periods (early 20th century), signed Shoun koku
The cylindrical vase cast in low-relief with a view of the peak of Mount Fuji at dusk from a grove of pines, the snowy peak of the mountain finished in silver and the bands of mist at the foot of the mountain and on the reverse in gold dust, the body patinated a powder tea green
15 1/8in. (38.5cm.) high
With wood box signed Toto ju Natsume Takanori zo (Made by Natsume Takanori of the eastern capital) and sealed, also inscribed Fujisangaku Shoun chodo hanaike (Flower vase with Mount Fuji carved by Shoun)
