The rectangular box with rounded corners and fitted lid decorated in the style of Akatsuka Jittoku (1871-1936) in varicolored gold takamaki-e with large peony blossoms, dense blooming wisteria and a sixteen-petal chrysanthemum crest, all on a gold ground sprinkled with gold powder; nashiji interior, rims silver
