Canon octogonal en fer bleui avec visée, signé à l'or au tonnerre, visée haillée de volutes gravées, que l'on retrouve sur le canon, platine à corps plat à rouet intérieur et couvre-bassinet coulissant, finement gravée illustrant un concours de tir, chien gravé de volutes et de deux tireurs en costume d'époque, crosse en noyer sculptée de volutes en faible relief, tiroir de réservé nervuré en noyer et corne noire, garnitures en laiton doré gravées de volutes dont une contre-platine illustrant le comptage des cibles atteintes, baguette d'origine avec embout en laiton doré.

A fine Austrian wheel-lock sporting rifle
By Marcus Zelner, early 18th century
With blued swamped octagonal sighted barrel signed in gold at the breech, shaped scroll engraved rear-sight, scroll engraved bright iron tang, flat lock with internal wheel and sliding pan-cover, the plate finely engraved with a scene depicting a target shooting competition, the cock engraved with scrollwork and two marksmen in contemporary costume, figured walnut full stock carved in low relief with scrollwork, fluted sliding dark horn and walnut patchbox-cover, gilt-brass mounts engraved with scrollwork including shaped solid side-plate depicting the targets from the shooting competition being marked, and original ramrod with gilt-brass tip.
