A gilt bronze figure of Amitayus
Tibet, 16th century
Seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus base with beaded rims, holding the kalasa in both hands, wearing a dhoti secured with a girdle of festoons, beaded jewelry including necklaces, armlets, and disk-shaped earrings, the face in a meditative expression with slight smile and downward gazing eyes centered by an urna, crowned with a foliate tiara with ribbons, the hair in a piled chignon with tresses escaping to the sides, and the base sealed and incised with a double-vajra
