The torana with a teardrop-shaped halo at center, standing bodhisattvas with mythical creatures on either side, makara heads emerging from scrolling vines centered by Garuda at top, bordered with Sakya Lamdre lineage figure inside a flaming edge; the base with Dharmataka and the four Guardian Kings

Lot Essay

This torana was likely for a figure of Vajradhara. The outer ring contains a lineage of teachers beginning with Vajradhara at the top. The base is centered with Dharmatala, attendant of the Sixteen Arhats, and then the Four Guardian Kings at the sides.
