A sandstone figure of Uma
Khmer, Angkor period, Baphuon style, 11th century
The multi-armed goddess standing with hips slung slightly forward, wearing an ankle-length sampot falling in parallel pleats with a fishtail fold, secured with a belt tied in an ornate knot at the front, the bare torso elegantly contoured with gently incised lines beneath the breasts and around the neck, and the surface smoothly polished
