A gilt copper figure of Tara
Nepal, 9th century
Standing on a lotus base with her right hand lowered and her left holding the stem of a lotus flower rising to her shoulder, wearing diaphanous and finely delineated robes delicately draped across her chest and secured with a jeweled belt at the waist, the end falling down from her shoulder and flaring to her left side, her face with a serene expression surmounted by a tiara and backed by a halo
