The center of the cover decorated in high relief and undercut with two buddhistic lions frolicking on either side of a tree peony, with a bird in flight above, the sides of the cover and the box with panels of different plants and trees, some including birds or insects, all with gilt highlights and reserved on a fine ring-punched ground
