A PALE GREENISH-WHITE AND PALE BROWN JADE PENDANT
19TH CENTURY
Of Suzhou type, carved as a section of tree trunk with branches bearing clusters of pine needles, inscribed on one side with a brief inscription and a seal, with a monkey supporting a peach carved along one edge highlighted by the pale brown area of the stone, as is a rock and vapor on the reverse

Lot Essay

The inscription may be translated, 'The warm red cloud bestows immortality', followed by the surname, Mei, and a seal, wen wan, 'enjoying literary phrases'.
