Lot Essay

A drawing of the same model appears on page 7 of Gillows' Cabinet-maker's General Sketch Book of 1810. Gillows supplied five identical presses to Tatton Park in Cheshire between 1810-1811. See J. Hardy and N. Goodison, Gillows at Tatton Park, Furniture History Society Journal 1970, pls. 10a and p.10.
