Lot Essay

An almost identical vial is in the al-Sabah collection in the Kuwait National Museum but is more weathered, illustrated in S. Carboni, Glass from Islamic Lands, London, 2001, cat. 74, p. 295. Our example has applied combed red bands of glass of a more regular width.
