The icon with Cyrillic maker's mark 'M.O' or 'M.F', Moscow, 1857; the order with maker's mark 'H.A', St. Petersburg, 1908-1917
The icon rectangular, Christ realistically painted, raising his hand in benediction, with applied sunburst halo, marked on lower edge and halo; the order a breast badge, gold and red and black enamel, with ribbon, marked on suspension loop and bail, the order affixed to a metal mount soldered to the oklad of the icon, the reverse of the central medallion detached from the badge and affixed to the back of the mount
The icon 8 7/8 x 7 1/8 in. (22.5 x 18.1 cm.), excluding frame; the badge 1 7/8 in. (4.8 cm.) wide (2)
