Lot Essay

A version of this composition, formerly attributed to Adriaen Brouwer, is in the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Lausanne and has recently been re-attributed to Craesbeeck (see K. de Clippel, Joos van Craesbeeck, Turnhout, 2006, I, pp. 296-7, no. C6; II, fig. 129).
