Poussin (cleanly torn and repaired at head and with small erasure), engraved typographical ornaments, with half title, BOUND FOR CARDINAL JULES MAZARIN (1602-1661) in contemporary brown morocco gilt, sides with broad gilt-tooled roll borders, central gilt armorial device incorporating cardinal's cap and tassels, surrounding panel with gilt semé of alternating five-pointed stars and small monograms capped with cardinal's cap and tassels, spine gilt in seven compartments, one with red morocco label, others with monogram tool and small star (leather scuffed at edges and renewed at some board edges and corners, repair to top and base of spine), g.e.
