Lot Essay

This fine table de salon was titled 'Table Louis XVI Marie-Antoinette, bois d'acajou' by Linke, to reflect the 18th century inspiration for the model, and 'Table Dasson', indicating that Linke bought the models for it from Henry Dasson, whose workshop closed in 1896. The black and white photograph reproduced here from the Linke Archive shows a clock garniture, known to have been made by or for Dasson, standing on top of this model of table.
