Lot Essay

Comte S.A., of Buenos Aires, Argentina, signed an exclusive manufacturing agreement for Jean-Michel Frank's designs in Argentina in 1936 but also produced pieces of its own design in French and English styles that were popular with wealthy Argentines. Comte S.A. labels were affixed to furniture from 1942 until the 1960s.
