Set with two enamel and gilt foil medals, one centering a portrait bust of Henri IV and inscribed 'HENRI IV ROI DE FRAN. ET DE NA.,' the other with a crowned figure wearing armor inscribed 'L. M. INST. 1693'

Lot Essay

See Paul Jokelson, Antique French Paperweights, 1995, p. 236, fig. B164 for a tumbler set with similar medallions, the first thought to be a Polish order for Ludov Miag inst. 1693 and the other for Henri IV King of France and Navarre.
