Founded in 1933, International Textiles was a leading publication for the promotion of the fashion and textiles industries, to which Gruau contributed artwork from 1946 until 1984. Gruau's distinctive and elegant mastery of line and his ability to synthesise colour with negative space yielded fashion illustration at its most dynamic.
