Château Haut-Brion--Vintage 1989
Pessac (Graves), 1er cru classé. Château-bottled
Level: 1.5cm or better; one slightly sign of old seepage
"The '89 Haut-Brion rouge is truly stupendous and merits all of the hyperbole showered upon it. On the nose it offers a scent of violets, ripe blackberry fruit, and a smoky, savory complexity. Silky and supple on the palate, it does not lack structure in any way, yet is impressively integrated, with only a hint of astringency to the firm tannins that will resolve with time. One of the truly great vintages from Haut-Brion." CC, July 2010
