A GILT-BRONZE MULTI-ARMED TANTRIC AVALOKITESVARA
MING DYNASTY, 15TH CENTURY
Seated in vajrasana with the principal hands held in vairocana mudra, the face finely modelled with with an urna on the forehead, with eight further pairs of hands radiating at the sides of the body, each hand holding ritual objects, wearing long robes and celestial scarf, on a seperate raised lotus petal stand supported by a hexagonal openwork base
