Lot Essay

For another hexagonal cloisonné enamel vase decorated with the same bold design of a single lotus bloom on each side and with each corner highlighted in gilt-metal, see Metal-bodied Enamel Ware, The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum, Hong Kong, 2002, p.99, pl. 96. See also ibid, p. 98, pl. 95, for a vase bearing an identical Qianlong cast four-character mark.
