Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with pink dial and applied pink gold hour markers in 1941 and its subsequent sale on 27 June 1942.

Production of reference 706 was launched in the 1940s, the model remained in production until sometimes in the 1950s. According to research, the present watch is the only example of this reference in pink gold with pink gold dial and unusual retailer's signature Le Palais Royal, Habana, to have appeared in public to date. Le Palais Royal in Havana, Cuba, was the sole official retailer of watches, jewellery and silver at the time.
