On volute and paw feet, the cruciform base applied with thyrsus and flowerheads, with four sphinxes supporting a reeded basket, with conforming ropework and acanthus decoration, with later silver-plate liner, the base engraved with a later monogram and Continental coronet, the centerpiece possibly reduced in height, marked on each flowerhead, each thyrsus, under base, under basket, on ring support, on pierced center support, and three nuts
14¼ in. (36 cm.) high, 17½ in. (44.5 cm.) diameter over feet; 256 oz. (7,967 gr.)
