EARLY 17TH CENTURY, PROBABLY LONDON
The first of waisted cylindrical form, painted in blue and manganese with an interlocking zig-zag pattern between concentric lines, the second of swelling cylindrical form, painted in yellow and blue with a dentil-pattern band between concentric lines and dash-ornament (restoration to both)
the first -- 4 3/8 in. (11.1 cm.) high, the second -- 5 1/8 in. (13 cm.) high (2)

Jonathan Horne notes the present jars were excavated, 'These...were found in the vacinity of Little Britain, an area just outside the city walls at Aldersgate.' The waisted albarello may have originated in Aldgate and the second example perhaps from Southwark.
