A SLIPWARE INSCRIBED AND DATED DISH
1767, THOMAS BERR, PERHAPS WEST COUNTRY
The yellow slip ground incised and filled with brick-red slip with a heart flanked by two cockerels below flowers, between the date 1767 above a flower between the name Thomas Berr, below a border of flowerheads alternating with segments, the unglazed reverse with an incised flower (some surface flaking and infilling to glaze)
13½ in. (34.3 cm.) diam.
