Lot Essay

Compare the very similar bottle sold in our New York rooms, 17 September 2008, lot 492; and the pair of slightly larger bottles sold in the same rooms, 16-17 September 2010, lot 1453. A yet larger vase of similar type is in the collection of the National Museum of China, illustrated in Zhongguo Guo Jia Bowuguan, Shanghai, 2006, p. 181, no. 119.
