FIRST EDITION. The Brig. Gen. is Lord George Townshend, who succeeded Wolfe in Canada, and this Letter contains charges of military incompetence. It has been attributed variously to General Charles Lee, to Thomas Pownall and to "Junius." Howes 6103. Sabin 36903. Staton & Tremaine 322 (no copy).
