CIRCA 1460-80, WORKSHOP OF MATTEO DI RANIERO DA CAGLI E VENTURA DI SIMONE DA SIENA
Of waisted form, painted in dark-blue, ochre, green and manganese, the centre with a band of scrolling 'Gothic foliage' between blue bands edged with ochre lines, with bands of 'San Bernardino rays' above and below between further blue bands, the waisted shoulder with a band of dash ornament (restoration to shoulder, neck and protruding lower part, very slight flaking to glaze on rim, footrim with slight chipping and flaking to glaze)
