Sale room notice
The finial is an 18 petal chrysanthemum and the kettle is therefore not an Imperial gift. Christies cannot state the purity of the gold but as stated in the catalogue it is stamped Junkin [pure gold] on the base. The handle may have a copper core but this cannot be determined without taking it apart.
