Given by the daughter of the present sitter, Aimée Jeanne Athénaïs Denis de Cuzieu, Madame de Saint-Thomas (1796-1871), to her own daughter Madame Andrieu de Vaulx.

Suzanne 'Christiane' d'Affaux de Glattas married on 28 September 1790 at the age of twenty Charles Aimé Ovide Denis de Cuzieu (1764-1848), Mayor of Saint-Lager (Rhône), Lieutenant Colonel of the Guards of Honour. They had three children: Charles, Blaise and Aimée Jeanne, to whom the present miniature was given.
