Of conical form with a hemispherical lower part, the body with lobed panels with incised joints and applied with a scroll spout and handle, the spout issuing from the jaws of a monster and with a double-scroll support above, the gilt-metal domed and hinged cover with a knop finial, the cover interior gilt, the scroll handle cast with foliage, the spout tip with a divided mount, the foot with a foliage cast silver-gilt mount (original handle partially lacking, tip of spout and cover lacking, oxidisation to mounts)

This form of coffee-pot was made for the Turkish market, and descriptions of Türckisch Coffe Krügel appear in the early inventories of the factory's products. For a similar example without a cover see Stefan Bursche, Meissen Steinzeug und Porzellan des 18. Jahrhunderts, Kunstgewerbemuseum, Berlin, no. 9. For an example in the State Collection, Dresden, with a domed cover and 'black' glaze simulating lacquer with gilt decoration, see Dirk Syndram and Ulrike Weinhold (ed.), Exhibition Catalogue Böttger Stoneware, Johann Friedrich Böttger and Treasury Art, Grünes Gewölbe, Dresden, 2009, p. 134, Ill.50, Cat.-No. 10.
