FOUR MEISSEN (MARCOLINI) OVAL SOUP-TUREENS AND COVERS
CIRCA 1800, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS AND STAR MARKS
Comprising a pair of tureens and covers and a smaller pair of tureens and covers en suite, the finials modelled as scantily clad putti holding up-turned cornucopiae spilling fruit and flowers, the handles as vertical scrolls enriched in gilding and with asparagus and cauliflowers issuing from cornucopiae, each painted with loose bouquets of flowers and scattered sprigs within gilt line rims (larger pair with one handle restuck and small chips to handles, smaller pair each with one handle repaired, slight flaking to enamels)
The larger pair 15 in. (38.1 cm.) wide, the smaller pair 10¾ in. (27.3 cm.) wide (4)
