A VIENNA TRANSPARENT-ENAMELLED BEAKER (RANFTBECHER)
CIRCA 1820-25
Decorated in the workshop of Anton Kothgasser with an allegory of Love and Fidelity, with flaming hearts on an altar between a hound and billing doves in a landscape within a flaring rectangular amber-stained cartouche gilt with flowerheads and leaves reserved against amber bands, gilt with entwined ivy, titled L'amour et la fidèlitè (sic.), on a cog-wheel cut foot and star-cut and amber-stained base (slight rubbing to gilding)
