Lot Essay

The end supports, stretcher and finely cast brass paw feet recall the sofa table made by Gillows Lancaster for John Gladstone Esq. in 1813, illustrated in S. Stuart, Gillows of Lancaster and London 1730-1840, London, 2008, pp. 265-266.
