Of traditional form, with shaped hook handle, the prow formed as a cockerel's head, the body cloisonné enamelled with vari-coloured stylised flowers and scrolling foliage in shades of green, blue, pink and yellow, the upper section and handle set with cabochon hardstones, marked under base

Peter Theodor Oktavius Christensen Tversted worked for the Danish Great Northern Telegraph Company, in Danish called 'Det Store Nordiske Telegraf-Selskab' in Russia in the 1920s and 1930s. Founded in 1868, the company is responsible for laying and maintaining cable in the Baltic Sea, the North Sea, Russia and the Far East.
