Decorated overall with chinoiserie vignettes wth china men trees and pavillions the schandelles filled stop-fluted column surmounted by a scroll, above the slanted hollow frame and on a canted base with pedals, inscribed 'Bosch Rue Hon..re no 275'

Lot Essay

The superb crisp carving of the present harp relates to that on a closely related example signed by Cousineau, now in the Victoria and Albert which is illustrated in F. Watson, Louis XVI Furniture, London, 1960, p. 151, fig 229.
