Painted and gilt in the manner of J.G. Höroldt with chinoiserie figures at various pursuits among furniture strewn with teawares and vases within gilt quatrefoil cartouches, the ground reserved with butterflies, caterpillars and insects, section to the side broken out with associated restoration and cracking, minor restoration to rim of cover
